Trip To Utah - Cousins

The last time Baby Girl saw her cousin WF, she was five weeks old.

WF now had a brother LF and a sister EF.

Athough WF is almost a full year older than Baby Girl, they got on really well. It was so nice for her to have a playmate there almost 24/7. There were almost no disagreements and lots of giggles.

Here, Baby Girl and WF are watching a show. Baby Girl loves her dresses and princess hair so there you have it. She's on vacation and dressed to the nines.

I realize this may seem like a recurring theme, but honestly, it's the only time any of them will sit still long enough to take a semi-focused photo. Seriously.

Nap Time

So, awhile back we thought Baby Girl might be ready to transition out of her afternoon nap.

Obviously, that is not the case.

PMP - Making Pizza

Baby Girl loves to help me make dinner.

Usually it involves sitting next to me on the counter while I do everything and try to make sure she doesn't add extra ingredients from my spice cabinet.

Or in this case, trying to keep her from eating all the raw flour while we're rolling out our pizza dough.

She's wearing them!

As mentioned previously, Baby Girl loves her girly shoes.

But I have been trying valiantly to get her interested in tennis shoes that she could wear outside while running or playing at the playground.

We purchased fancy pink tennis shoes with just a little sparkle to try and entice her and they sat in her closet for close to a month before she tried them on, but she did and I have photographic proof!

I had to convince her that the only way to go on a walk was in her new "walking shoes". Once she had a purpose for the shoes and they became special she couldn't wait to wear them!

She then tried to tell me that we needed to go the mall and try them out.

All By Myself

Baby Girl wanted some cake. And I was too slow to get it for her.

But I was quick enough to get some pictures before I took the cake away.

Baby Girl Turns 3

For Baby Girl's birthday we had a princess and prince party. We invited a handful of kids and I made prince capes in blue satin for the boys and hot pink princess tutus for the girls.

And sadly this is the best group shot we could manage.

Part of our activities for the day were to make our own princess and prince crowns. I had already cut out foam crowns and the kids were able to color them with markers and attach sticky jewels all over the place.

We all got sparkly wands that were cute for about two seconds before they became swords.

Which resulted in more than a few situations like this one.

After pictures and a few wand fights we settled down to food and cake. We had tuna fish bites and ham and cheese flowers along with red grapes.

While the kids ate really well for the most part, their favorite things were the little forks that held the sanwiches together. I think every single child tried to eat their entire meal with the cocktail skewer rather than their fingers like they were supposed to. I know Baby Girl loved that part (obviously).

When it came time for cake, we had a single layer with candles ready for Baby Girl to blow out and then frilly pink cupcakes with white frosting and fancy rings as decoration. The rings were a huge hit and the frosting, too.

The pink cake, while fun, was store bought strawberry so I didn't really fault them for not wanting to eat it.

Finally, we opened presents. Baby Girl got dress up clothes, a fancy princess box with her name on it, a pretty tea set, and some color wonder paper and markers that are probably going to save the day when we leave for Utah in a few days.

All in all, it was a great day and after clean up and naps, we played dress up and wore our fancy head band and earrings and necklace the rest of the day.

Photo Memory Phriday

Doing Hair.

This was taken just over 1 year ago and is pretty much how we always looked trying to get Baby Girl's clothes. It was entertaining for Grandma F.

She's much better now and will actually sit still while we do pigtails...mostly.

Feeding Mousarina

Baby Girl has really amped up the imaginative play lately, and almost all of her stuffed animals are now doing the exact same things that Baby Boy is doing.

On the flip side, Baby Girl is now doing almost exactly what I am doing.

Here, Baby Girl is feeding Mousarina her cereal. She has moved a toy high chair onto our dining room chair, and is spoon feeding her "Ice Christmas Treats" and as you regular folk call them, Rice Krispies.

Sparkle Shoes

Baby Girl absolutely LOVES glitter.

It doesn't really matter what it's on, if she can wear it, she will. This is particularly true about shoes. Grandma M bought her a pair of sparkle shoes when Baby Boy was born and she has worn the glitter right off of them.

I mentioned this to a friend of mine and she was like, "Just glue some more glitter on." And since I thought that was a pretty good idea, that's what we did.

Photo Memory Phriday

In an effort to document my life for the past however long it's been since I've updated this blog, I thought I would catch up with photo memories.

Has it really been that long since I've posted anything substantial? Yes, yes it has.

When Daphne turned one we had a few friends over and ate cupcakes. She was much neater than we anticipated, but it was fun all the same.

She got a play vacuum and a play kitchen that she still plays with to this day. The vacuum is a favorite toy of pretty much any child that comes into the house, so as much as it irritates me, it was definitely a good gift!

Spaghetti was our lunch of choice and as you can see, it was a favorite to be sure!

Wrapping Paper!!

At least it wasn't her nose...right?

Baby Girl loves money. Specifically coins. She likes the sounds they make when they're together, she loves sharing them with others, and putting them in her little purse.

She also likes to stick them in random places around the house. I'm thankful that she doesn't put them in her mouth, but there are others places I wish she wouldn't put them either.

Like our printer.

I was trying to pull photos off of a memory card today and had a little trouble fitting the card into the appropriate slot.

It was then that I noticed a penny had been shoved inside and left there for who knows how long. It took a little finagling, but I eventually removed the penny and was able to upload the photos from the card.

At least it wasn't her nose...right?

Summer Fun

We had our first ice cream of the season tonight.

It was also Baby Girl's first time eating ice cream from a cone. We walked to an ice cream shop with our friends DB and JB and their son, AB. Baby Girl and AB love the wagon and giggled the entire way to the shop.
