PMP- Boston 2008

So my one and only business trip with Tribune was to Boston.

I'd been to Boston only once before for Thanksgiving with my awesome Aunt and Uncle and cousins. I was like 13 and all I remember was getting sick and Faneuil Hall.

This time, I spent a week out in the suburbs earning certification on our tracking software. It was amazing and so much fun. I caught up with my Awesome Aunt A, and took the T into the city to walk around Boston Common and then out to Faneuil Hall and through interesting side streets.

It was a lot of fun, even WITH the microburst that I experienced while trying to take the walking tour through the park.

There were quite a few people there for training and a few of us got together for dinner quite often after class. It was fun to relax a little after and to, as evidenced by this picture, try new foods. I'd never had oysters before, but it was an experience and quite tasty.

I'm still trying to convince DH to go back there with me.

PMP - Holding Miss M

My brother DM had the first grandchild, Miss M. This was on her blessing day in December? I think.

It was really neat to hold her and see my brother act like a nervous first time Dad. That's when I truly realized how awesomely calm my SIL KM is.

Also, I had convinced DH to grow his hair out a little bit longer than he had it. I look back now and giggle a little, because while it certainly was a bit more relaxed, it's so totally not him. At all. He's quit listening to me when I suggest hair styles now and I have to say, it's for the best.

I got to see Miss M a few weeks after that when I drove with a friend to Seattle. She was moving back home and needed a driving buddy. It was an awesome road trip and I got to see Seattle for the first time. On our way, we stopped at DM and KM's for the night to make things a little easier. It's super early on the day we're leaving and so my make-up is smudgy and I have my jammies on, but Miss M is so cute, I can hardly stand it.

PMP - Gallup, NM

Ok, Mom, you're going to need to help verify my memories a bit with this one.

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, we lived in Gallup, New Mexico...

We lived in two different houses, one with dark brown wooden walls and I remember always dropping my My Little Pony dolls between the bed?couch? and the wall. I remember having the chest of drawers fall on me at the second house and that there was a mountain in our backyard and we had rocks, not grass. I also remember a mildly terrifying dog, I think?

Anyway, I think both pictures were taken at the second house.

Here I am in my swimming suit. I remember thinking that I should be in this everyday and it was frustrating to wear clothes. Hmmm, that reminds me of someone... Oh yes, Baby Girl, who wore her ballerina swimming suit ALL day yesterday (including to the post office) and pretty much removes any article of clothing I try to put her in.

Here's me and my older brother DM dancing around our front room. We are really close in age so things like this weren't really uncommon for us. We were each other's best playmate (and sometimes worst enemy).

And oh look, my legs are still not as tan as my arms...

PMP - Making Pizza

Baby Girl loves to help me make dinner.

Usually it involves sitting next to me on the counter while I do everything and try to make sure she doesn't add extra ingredients from my spice cabinet.

Or in this case, trying to keep her from eating all the raw flour while we're rolling out our pizza dough.

PMP - Mexico 2007

Long ago, before children were ever thought of, we went to Mexico with my family.

We were at Chichen Itza looking through the ruins for a day and someone gave DH the video camera. He took his job very seriously as you can see here.

Here's a handful of us hanging out by what I think was a font of some kind. I'm a little fuzzy on where everything was. DH and I are with my mom and three of my four brothers. It was so hot that day, but so neat to be near so much history.

This was our day trip to Cozumel. We were in Playa del Carmen so a quick speed boat ferry took us over there for some fun window shopping and food.

And last but not least, this is probably my favorite photo. AaM and I have the most similar coloring out of us kids which essentially means that neither of us tan at all, while my three other brothers turn golden brown in the sun.

Frankly, it was worth any amount of sunburn to watch my 6'4" brother stroll through the ruins with a lime green parasol.

Photo Memory Phriday

Doing Hair.

This was taken just over 1 year ago and is pretty much how we always looked trying to get Baby Girl's clothes. It was entertaining for Grandma F.

She's much better now and will actually sit still while we do pigtails...mostly.

Photo Memory Phriday

In an effort to document my life for the past however long it's been since I've updated this blog, I thought I would catch up with photo memories.

Has it really been that long since I've posted anything substantial? Yes, yes it has.

When Daphne turned one we had a few friends over and ate cupcakes. She was much neater than we anticipated, but it was fun all the same.

She got a play vacuum and a play kitchen that she still plays with to this day. The vacuum is a favorite toy of pretty much any child that comes into the house, so as much as it irritates me, it was definitely a good gift!

Spaghetti was our lunch of choice and as you can see, it was a favorite to be sure!

Wrapping Paper!!
