I should not be allowed to touch the alarm between the hours of 4:30a and 6:30a.
Why?
Because this whole "doing everything" situation is sort of catching up with me and I'm tired. REALLY, bone-deep, tired.
My alarm went off without a hitch this morning, exactly as it always does at 4:34am. I quickly waddle over to the alarm (because if it's by my bed I will snooze it until 7) and turn it off. I sit in the desk chair for what feels like forever (15 seconds tops) and think, I could just leave my hair curly today and get another half hour of sleep...
SO I RESET THE ALARM.
Why would I do this? Beyond wanting more sleep, I'm not coherent! I can't form a complete thought, let alone engage complex motor skills.
So, I changed my alarm, I went from 4:34 to 5:06. I put the alarm switch to on and went back to bed.
I woke up and raced (waddled) to my phone. It's 5:43. I was supposed to drive today and I had to be at everyone's house by 5:35. I'm so totally screwed...
I called TJ, the other seminary teacher and she agreed to drive today and teach alone - because I still hadn't showered, and curly hair or not, I wouldn't have made a shower and seminary this morning.
OK. Moral of the story. When you want to change the alarm, make sure your actually changing the ALARM time and not the ACTUAL time. Because this will screw up your morning. Also, just get up. A few extra minutes in a hot shower would have probably been just as effective as sleeping for another hour...man, I'm an idiot.

I'm an Idiot

I totally am the same way in the morning (well...I was, before I gave birth to those alarm clocks that don't turn off or let you snooze). Every morning one summer I contemplated quitting my job so I could sleep in. Good thing I didn't listen to myself....
Don't feel like an idiot I do it all the time I just forget to turn the alarm on. Seriously has messed me up so bad. Hey who doesn't need extra sleep you're in your third tri! I was exhausted by then!
The good news is that you have an excellent excuse. Pregnant. And anyone who has ever been pregnant will nod in understanding, and anyone who hasn't will try to relate, which of course they can't. The tiredness of growing a HUMAN BEING inside you is overwhelming, especially during that last trimester. So don't beat yourself up too much!
Okay I know that it is no fun being late but i have to say the I think 15 min extra of sleep saves me. I am so much like that sleep as much as i can in the morning. to bad now I have a three year old that will come and jump on me if i sleep too long.
Well I'm not pregnant so I don't get to use that excuse but please. DO NOT beat yourself up over this. remember all the times I've done this to you? It's only fair game that you get to have one of those mornings and let me drive and teach on my own.
Just think, FOUR WEEKS LEFT then you can get a whole lot of sleep. Well for about a month you'll get extra sleep that is. :-)
i have so done that before! oh my! sorry you had a rough start to your day! HUGS!
i don't know how you do it! if i had to wake up that early, i am pretty sure it would be the death of me!
Haha! I'm pretty sure waking up at 4:30 every morning would kill me! When you have your baby at least you'll be able to go back to sleep after those early a.m. feedings. :)
