So, as I said in my pseudo-update, we spent Mother's day weekend with my parents in Kirtland.
I took my new camera. (After like 4 years of spanish, I ALWAYS want to spell camera with an extra "a" (i.e. camara), anyone else?)
We left early Friday morning, the 8th and drove straight through, and except for that wrong turn toward Akron, we totally would have been there early. :)
So - in typical familial fashion, we had a weekend full of food. Yum! To make up for my hideous lack of photos lately, I'm posting a handful here. Enjoy!
mmmmm....I love pancakes. We used the flat top again and dad bought a bacon press. Because seriously, how can you have a flat top grill and no bacon press? You can't. I'll just tell you.
These are from dinner that first night (so technically before the breakfast shots but whatever). We had grilled steaks, corn on the cob and some other random stuff that I can't remember we ate. Sorry - my memory is really going what with this whole baby thing.

I looks like you had a great time and of corse great food. we are going this weekend so it should be fun. (except for I am on a diet right now and trying to lose some weight and going to your parents house never helps that) Who is the girl in the picture? should I know her because i don't recognize her?
Yeah, diets and my parents house never really go well together...you may want to just give yourself a weekend off!
The mystery girl in the picture is J's girlfriend. She's nice and spent the weekend with us.
Oh man can we say jealous? I would die for that kitchen and that food. And seriously you HAVE to have a bacon press if you have a flat top grill. Love the shots with the new camera I hope you're loving it.
And let me guess Dave got you lost? Don't worry it's not Alzheimer like John thought I had.. it comes back I promise (well most of it). I think it's a spanish thing cause I took 4-5 years and I do the same thing all the time.
Oh, and if I only knew you were in the area! I will let you know the next time we visit my parents.
Dave looks so happy in that second-to-last picture, lemme tell you! I love big breakfast gatherings. I think it would be so fun to have like a family ritual of Saturday morning breakfast get-togethers and have tons of yummy breakfast foods, such as you have shown here.
