Halloween

I'm not big into the holidays. It's never really bothered me because I'm not big into costumes and I haven't really had a place that I liked enough to decorate.

But, alas, now I have a daughter and a husband, and I spend the majority of my time in my home, so I feel like I need to step it up.

As you may have noticed, Baby Girl is not in a super cute costume - she is in a super festive, and totally awesome Halloween outfit though. (This is how I make up for her lack of costuming). This outfit was graciously purchased by my mom. Because, knowing me as she does, it wouldn't occur to me to buy Baby Girl anything for Halloween.

So, DH has mentioned to me on more than one occasion how much he love fall decorations. I've finally taken the hint and bought a few things. I think they're all a little on the lame side - but that's why I don't decorate!

Anyway, they must be really lame because DH can't quit commenting on these word block things that I purchased that say "Harvest". He can't believe someone would use dark lettering on a darkly painted block because then you can't see it.

And, I'm all - really? I'm finally making an effort here to be more "festive" and you have to mock my attempts? Just wait until Christmas, buddy, it'll be bah-humbug for the rest of the year...

You are a funny girl Rachel. Bah- humbug and all! I love the little festive outfit that your sweet little baby is wearing. Having kids has really made the holidays more fun to me. Their excitement makes me excited. I think David's comments are funny too- it must be the artist in him:)At least you are trying to step it up- I hope he appreciates it:)

That's so funny, I absolutely love the holidays and get a little giddy about decorating my house, it's pretty pathetic. I would totally do holiday crafts with you if we lived close, that is, it you wanted to. I think your baby looks super cute in her halloween outfit, and like Amy said, you will probably like Halloween more and more as your kids get older. It was a lot more fun for us this year than last year since Will could actually go trick or treating.

I think Daphne is ridiculously cute. I'm not a big decorator myself so I hear ya on the seasonal decorations.

I'm right there with you on the decorating thing. The only holiday I have cute decorations for is Christmas and some years they don't even get put up.
